Hair transplant surgery is a painless and straightforward process that takes place in a particular area with a local anaesthetic, hence there are no repercussions on our body.
Scars and after-effects on the area transplanted are almost non-existent. Any incision on your body will always leave a scar but in the case of hair transplant, the scar will become invisible to the human eye in most cases. Obviously, each case is different and it is important to say that the individual factor has to be taken into account.
Evaluating the quality of the patient’s skin is very important because some people heal less effectively, so an alteration might be needed to reduce the scar visibility. This is particularly true for patients who have undergone 2 or 3 hair transplants (as baldness is a progressive process) in different areas. This can produce a pressure on the scar’s closing, so an alteration can be needed.

Each case is different, and to tell the truth, not all patients heal the same way. There are scars at the place where we extract pieces of hair needed for the hair transplant, and at the place where the hair transplant takes place but they become almost invisible after healing, and one would need a magnifying glass to see them.
We have realized many hair transplants for famous people who were able to make public appearances in front of lots of people or to go to the hairdresser only a few days after the hair transplant, without anybody noticing that a hair transplant was done.

Question: I am 39 years old Caucasian male, and I am considering Hair Transplant Surgery to treat my baldness. I have balding on the top of my head but I have lot of hair on the sides and back of my head. My question is this: Is it possible to use the strip method of hair transplant more than one time, without depleting the donor area? Your inputs will be of great help. Thanks and Best Regards.
Answer: The hair transplant procedure is a relocation of permanent follicles from the donating zone (lateral and posterior area of the head) to the balding area where the patient lost his/her hair. The follicles will not regenerate themselves in the donating zone. By taking the follicle from the donor zone we are relocating the follicles (cells) in top the area where the hair density is low. In most cases, with a correct approach by the surgeon, the donate zone could be extract few times (5 times or more) to get more permanent follicles for relocation. In your particular case; Caucasians patient with good hair density in the donor zone; you probably will be able to have few strip procedures.
